What We Do

Overall  Approach & Strategy

AHyRA brings together over 50 global and regional organisations working towards rice self-sufficiency in Africa and offers its members an opportunity to accelerate commercialisation of hybrid rice technologies by offering access to high quality hybrid rice germplasm globally, hybrid rice seed certification and commercialization, co – branding of hybrid rice seed for commercialisation, capacity building and technical advisory support for hybrid rice technology through:

Multisectoral approach to governance – Public Private partnership that integrates gender and youth for Hybrid rice development and production.


Partnership with African governments in Hybrid rice promotion and capacity enhancement


Accessing hybrid lines and facilitating selection and testing of suitable rice hybrids for commercial release in various countries


IP Management and licensing among stakeholders
